25mm Hollow Hardened Ground Bearing Linear Shaft – Cut To Size
Description
25mm Diameter Hollow Hardened Ground Bearing Linear Shafts are specialised CF60 steel shafts with an induction-hardened outer layer, designed for linear motion applications. Often referred to as linear or precision shafts, these components are integral to various mechanical systems. Characterised by their high material quality, surface hardness, and precise dimensions, they provide a robust and wear-resistant solution for linear motion. Whether used as linear shafts with ball bearings and rollers, guide shafts with plain bearings, or in other mechanical applications, these Hollow Hardened Ground Bearing Linear Shafts offer unparalleled performance and longevity.
Key Features
- Material: Made from CF53 Steel a high-grade carbon steel known for its exceptional strength and resilience. Its unique composition offers excellent wear resistance and toughness, making it an ideal choice for Hardened Ground Bearing Linear Shafts.
- Surface Hardness: The Hardened Ground Bearing Linear Shafts boast a minimum surface hardness of 59HRC, a feature that contributes to their exceptional wear resistance. This level of hardness not only enhances the shaft’s durability but also ensures consistent performance under demanding conditions, making them suitable for various industrial applications.
- Diameter Tolerance: Precision engineered with a diameter tolerance of h7 (+0,-0.018 to -0.021mm), these shafts are meticulously crafted to meet exact specifications. This tight tolerance ensures a perfect fit and alignment within mechanical systems, providing smooth operation and reducing the risk of wear and failure.
- Cut-to-Size: Cut to +/- 0.5mm with manual deburring for a perfect finish, each shaft is tailored to your exact requirements. We charge per millimetre, with no additional cutting fees. This approach provides a cost-effective solution so you receive your Linear Shafts project ready.
- Versatility: Suitable for a wide range of applications, the Hollow Hardened Ground Bearing Linear Shafts are a versatile solution for various mechanical needs, being hollow they are especially suited for where weight is a premium. Whether used as linear shafts with ball bearings and rollers, guide shafts with plain bearings, stretch and guide rollers, hinge pins, or other general mechanical applications, these shafts are designed to adapt to diverse requirements. Their robust construction and precision engineering make them an ideal choice for industries seeking reliability and flexibility in their components.
Pros and Cons
Use these Hollow Hardened Ground Bearing Linear Shafts where corrosion resistance is not required and weight is a premium. If corrosion resistance is required use Chrome Plated Solid Hardened Ground Bearing Linear Shafts. If weight is not a premium use Solid Hardened Ground Bearing Linear Shafts.

Customisations
We offer a broad selection of customisation options for our aluminium extrusions. Read the guidelines below for help choosing the correct customisations for your project.
1.0 – Required Length
Required length is the total length of the linear shaft in millimetres (mm).
A liquid-cooled machine is used to cut the linear shaft. This ensures that the shaft remains cool during the cutting process, preserving the diameter tolerance.
We will manually de-burr the ends of the shaft with a small chamfer.
Please note the linear shafts are delivered with a protective oil coating. This coating is not intended as bearing lubrication. We recommend removing this coating with Isopropyl Alcohol or a similar solvent. After removal, be sure to apply an appropriate bearing grease tailored to your specific application.
If the protective oil coating is removed and the shafts are not greased accordingly, they will become vulnerable to corrosion and rust.
